A rare English Queen Ann London "Arabesque" marquetry longcase clock of good proportions The marquetry on oak case with "bulls eye" glass to trunk door has a very rare and most unusual jovial marquetry figure portrayed on the centre base of the case. Square hood with original blind fretwork above gilded capitals to hood columns. Eight day duration movement with countwheel striking the hours on a bell. Sleeved brass weights Square silvered brass dial with seconds ring and date aperture. The unrecorded signature is most likely the maker but possibly the original owner of the clock. John Hamers.
