A rare English “Scott Memorial” Skeleton clock. The original glass dome rests on a double marble base covering a six spoke, six pillar “Fusee” time only movement with gilded fugure’s of “Scott with his dog at his feet.” The fugures are a replica of the “Sir Walter Scott” memorial statue in Edinburgh (Scotland).

The original Scott Memorial skeleton clock was designed by William Frederick Evans and displayed at the Great Exhibition in 1851. This clock was constructed in the years following close to that date.
