HomeMahogany Longcase Clocks: Scully (Irish)

Irish longcase clock, circa 1840

A small Irish late-Regency longcase clock. The mahogany case has rare Endive scrollwork decorating the dome-top hood, which is surmounted by a ball brass finial on either side with flame veneers to both trunk and base.

The round painted dial with seconds ring is inscribed with maker's name:

F. X. Scully. Dublin.

This is either the name of an unlisted maker or a retailer of that period. Circa 1830.
