English oak hall clock. The case, with exceptionally fine carving, has a broken arch hood with carved masks of "Dante" and "Beatrice" on either side, forming the arms on either side of the seat below are two cherubic heads, feminine and masculine with feathered wings. Eight-day-duration fusee movement, striking hours on a gong. Silvered brass arch dial with crown spandrels supported by cherubs surrounding a silvered brass cartouche bearing the clockmaker's name: Daniel Smallpage. Wakefield.
