HomeWall Clocks: Swedish Wall Clock

An extremely large and rare Swedish wall clock. Restored iron case with either maker's name or most probably the name of the company or person it was commissioned for. The high-quality small "turret," time-only duratioin movement has both dead beat escapemenet and maintaining power. The thick, tin dial has the original hands. Case inscribed:

F.W. Tornberg, Stockholm

Turret movements are normally only constructed for either tower or steeple clocks. It is exceptionally rare to find one in a wall clock.

(Size: 22 inches wide by 27 inches high.)

Circa 1890.
